Andrew Hitz is speaker, creator, and internationally renowned soloist and clinician having appeared in over 40 states and 30 countries including Singapore, Russia, Brazil, and Spain. In 2013 he ended an almost 14 year tenure as the tuba player for Boston Brass. Andrew has also appeared with the National Symphony Orchestra and the New World Symphony. As an Educational Ambassador for XO Brass, Andrew has conducted master classes around the world at schools such as the Central Conservatory in Beijing, the Royal Academy of Music in London, and the Juilliard School in New York City. He is currently a professor at both George Mason University and Gettysburg College. Andrew is a co-founder of Pedal Note Media, a digital media company where he hosts two podcasts, The Brass Junkies and The Entrepreneurial Musician. He is also the author of “A Band Director’s Guide to Everything Tuba: A Collection of Interviews with the Experts”.
